It depends on your current issues and general physical condition, on the therapist’s recommendation, and on your own discernment. After each treatment the therapist will give you an updated assessment, suggestions for a course of further treatments, and recommendations of frequency of follow-up or ongoing treatments.

Your therapist will ask you about what you are looking for, then she will leave the room while you undress, lie on the massage table and cover your body with the sheets provided. You can leave your underwear on if you like, or remove it if you prefer.
During the treatment the therapist will take care to keep your private areas covered at all times. During the treatment the therapist might ask you questions about the pressure, might ask you to breathe deeply at certain times, or might ask questions about how a specific technique feels, especially if she is working on a particular injury or condition.
We encourage you to stay present with what is happening in your body as you receive the treatment. You don’t need to fill the space with talking, unless it makes you more comfortable to do so; sometimes talking is needed and is good. If you would like to stay quiet, you can let your therapist know.
When the treatment is completed, the therapist will let you know and leave the room so that you can dress. She will wait for you in the reception area to give you her last recommendations and see how you feel.
Once your treatment is finished you will check out at the front desk and book your next appointment. Drink lots of water after a massage - it helps move toxins out of the body. You might feel relaxed or tired after your appointment; the day after you might feel sore.
It is optimal to let your body adjust to the changes after the treatment without additional challenges. Exercise is not contraindicated, but it would be better to work out before your treatment than after.
If you are unsure of what to book, book a general massage therapy. When you arrive for your appointment you can communicate your needs to your therapist and she will recommend the optimal modality. Relaxation massage is gentler than deep tissue massage, which focuses on specific areas and employs greater pressure.
